  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
Toppings
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the flour, mixing until well combined.
  4. Spread half of the dough into the prepared baking pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  2. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips and pecans over the baked layer.
  3. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the chocolate and nuts.
  4. Take the remaining dough and crumble it over the top.
  5. Return to the oven and bake for another 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden and the caramel is bubbly.
Cooling
  1. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

Chill the dough for easier handling if it's too soft. Use quality ingredients for better flavor and ensure to cool completely before cutting to maintain shape.
