  • 1 cup warm milk Make sure it's warm, not hot.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar For yeast activation.
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast Ensure it's fresh.
  • 1/2 cup butter Room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup sugar For sweetening the dough.
  • 2 large eggs Add one at a time.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla preferred.
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour Plus extra for rolling.
For the filling
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed.
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon For flavor.
  • 1 cup chopped pecans Chop coarsely.
For the glaze
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup Warm before drizzling.

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together warm milk, sugar, and yeast, letting it sit until frothy.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla to the creamed mixture.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough until smooth, then let it rise until it doubles in size.
Filling
  1. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans.
Assembly
  1. Once the dough has risen, roll it out and spread the filling evenly.
  2. Roll it up tightly and slice into buns.
  3. Place the sliced buns in a baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown.
  2. Drizzle generously with a warm maple syrup mixture.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Can be frozen for longer storage. Substitute pecans with walnuts if preferred, or omit nuts entirely.
