  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the water, sugar, and salt. Stir the mixture over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Add in the mashed bananas and continue to cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Let the syrup cool for a few minutes, then strain it through a fine sieve to get rid of any banana pulp.
  5. Pour the syrup into a clean jar or bottle and store it in the refrigerator.

Notes

Choose ripe bananas for the best flavor. Strain the syrup for a smooth texture and store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
