  • 2 cups diced apples Any variety, tart apples like Granny Smith are recommended.
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion For added flavor.
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds or nuts For topping, optional.
Dressing Ingredients
  • 1 cup mayonnaise Can substitute with vegan mayonnaise.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice For acidity and flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Adjust to taste.

Preparation
  1. Wash and cut the broccoli into small florets.
  2. Dice the apples into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the broccoli, apple pieces, and chopped red onion.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise, lemon juice, and sugar for the dressing.
  5. Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and toss until well coated.
  6. Add sunflower seeds or nuts on top for crunch.
  7. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Cut broccoli into small, uniform pieces for even mixing. Can prepare a day in advance, adding nuts just before serving. Add dried cranberries or raisins for extra sweetness.
