Ingredients

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- ½ cup yogurt
- Butter or garlic oil (for brushing, optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water with sugar and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt, creating a well in the center.
- Add yeast mixture and yogurt into the well. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until soft.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Divide the dough into balls and roll out to ¼ inch thickness.
- Preheat a pan over medium-high heat and cook each naan for 2-3 minutes per side.
- Optionally, brush hot naan with melted butter or garlic oil.
Notes
For extra flavors, try adding herbs or garlic to the dough. Serve with your favorite curries or as a base for mini pizzas.
