Description

Delightful light and fluffy pastries, dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for snacking or desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until just warm to the touch and sprinkle yeast into it. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and melted butter.
  3. Add the frothy yeast mixture and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until soft and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into circles.
  7. Heat oil in a deep pot and fry the doughnuts until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  8. Cool on a wire rack and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with chocolate sauce, vanilla glaze, or fruit preserves.
