Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Warm the milk until just warm to the touch and sprinkle yeast into it. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and melted butter.
- Add the frothy yeast mixture and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until soft and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into circles.
- Heat oil in a deep pot and fry the doughnuts until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
- Cool on a wire rack and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with chocolate sauce, vanilla glaze, or fruit preserves.
