Description

A delightful twist on the classic grilled cheese with sweet apples and tart cranberries.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of thick bread (sourdough or whole grain)
  • 2 slices of your favorite cheese (sharp cheddar recommended)
  • 1 small apple, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cranberry sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Spread cranberry sauce on one slice of bread.
  2. Layer sliced apples and cheese on top of the cranberry sauce.
  3. Sprinkle cinnamon if desired and top with the other slice of bread.
  4. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the sandwich in the skillet for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Cut in half and enjoy!

Notes

Use room temperature butter for easier spreading. Experiment with different cheeses for variety.
